Bespoke Fitting Guide

Precision measurements ensure an uncompromised silhouette. Follow our step-by-step self-measurement instructions or consult our master tailor guidelines.

Before You Begin
  • Use a soft vinyl cloth measuring tape (do not use metal tape measures).
  • Stand relaxed in a natural posture without pushing out your chest or tucking in your waist.
  • For best results, have a friend take the measurements while you stand straight.

1. Chest Circumference

Wrap the tape measure under your arms around the fullest part of your chest. Keep the tape horizontal and parallel to the floor with two fingers flat under the tape for movement clearance.

Tailor Advice: Relax your arms at your sides and breathe normally—do not expand or suck in your chest.

2. Trouser Waist

Measure around your natural waistline where your suit trousers normally rest (typically 1–2 inches below your belly button). Keep the tape comfortably snug, not tight.

Tailor Advice: Do not pull in your stomach. Measure over dress shirt/light pants rather than thick denim.

3. Shoulder Width

Measure across your upper back from the seam edge of one shoulder bone straight to the outer edge of the other shoulder bone following the natural curve of your upper back.

Tailor Advice: A properly fitted shoulder seam should rest right where your shoulder meets your arm curve.

4. Sleeve Length

Place the tape measure at the top tip of your shoulder seam and measure down the outer arm to the wrist bone where you prefer your jacket sleeve to end.

Tailor Advice: Allow 1/4 to 1/2 inch of dress shirt cuff to show beneath your suit sleeve.

5. Jacket Length

Measure from the base of the back of your collar straight down the center back to where you want the jacket tail to land (typically halfway down your seat/buttocks).

Tailor Advice: A classic cut covers the seat entirely; a contemporary cut sits slightly higher.

6. Trouser Outseam

Measure from the top edge of your trouser waistband down the outside leg to the ankle bone or preferred trouser break line.

Tailor Advice: Wear your dress shoes while taking this measurement to ensure accurate trouser break.
